About PastureLand

Working together, the farm families of PastureLand produce exceptional butter and cheeses made from the milk of our own 100% grass-fed cows. Using intensive rotational grazing and year-round soil management to improve the vitality of our pastures and the health of our animals, we find deep satisfaction in providing foods that nourish our soils and souls.

By bringing PastureLand grass-fed butter and cheese home to your kitchen, you are signing an age-old compact between farmer and eater. You trust us to provide real sustenance for you and your family. We pledge to provide nourishing, satisfying foods, and to use farming methods that renew our soil, air and stream.

Not a day passes that we don’t see some sign that modern agribusiness is chipping away at the life that had sustained us for generations. We hear about the “dead zone” from farm chemicals in the heartland washing downstream to the Gulf of Mexico; vulnerable prairie species like our beloved Meadowlarks are drastically depleted; we find we have to drill wells over 600 feet deep to find clean water without farm chemical contamination. We hear the bad news about conventional farming and renew our commitment to finding a better way.

Turning to look at our own farms we see healthier cows and lower vet bills. We see our own families growing healthier, and we hear our children planning to find their own farms someday. This is real fair trade – fair wages for good hard work. In return you get the highest nutrition nature can provide, and the knowledge that your purchase is supporting sustainability in the environment and community around you.

PastureLand farms have all been certified organic in accordance with the USDA’s National Organic Program, and for their sustainable farming practices by Food Alliance. No antibiotics or hormones, including rGBH/rBST, are used to enhance the growth or production of our dairy herds.

The following organizations have provided grant support to help PastureLand promote pasture-based dairy products.
